Šitbořice Cycle Ball in Winter 2026
The beginning of 2026 brought our club a series of excellent results and confirmed that our cycle ball players are among the top in the Czech Republic. The winter months were full of quality performances across all categories.
In the junior category, we started the season very promisingly in January. At the first round of the 1st League in Nezamyslice, the combined pair Vojtěch Nečas and Matěj Matušinec (Šitbořice/Nezamyslice) fought for second place with 15 points and a record of 30:7. Our second junior pair Vítek Doležal and Matěj Šabata finished fifth with 7 points. In February, Nečas and Matušinec confirmed their excellent form with second place at the second round in Svitávka, where they lost only one of six matches. Doležal and Šabata took fourth place this time.
In the U23 category, the league preliminary round took place in Zlín in January. Šimon Urbánek and Ondřej Valíček fulfilled the main goal – with fourth place and 13 points, they secured advancement to the U23 League for 2026. Given that only the top five of nine participating teams advanced, this was an important result.
At the end of February, we hosted the traditional Grand Prix in Šitbořice, this time with a rich program of three international tournaments during one weekend – Friday's Pramos Cup U20, Saturday's Pramos Cup for youth, and Saturday's main Grand Prix Elite event. The atmosphere was very good throughout the weekend and we are pleased with the participation of foreign teams from Germany and Switzerland.
In the youth category, we had two pairs at the Grand Prix Šitbořice. Matěj Šabata with Vítek Doležal won the silver medal, losing only to the victorious German team Zscherben. Mikuláš Doležal with Filip Kyzlink finished fourth.
In the elite category, teams came from Germany and Switzerland, including the second-best Swiss team from Mosnang, which made the 800-kilometer journey. The second Šitbořice pair Dominik Šabata and Martin Konečný finished sixth and achieved draws with both the premier league Šitbořice 1 and the Czech Champions from Zlín. Our first pair Martin Drabálek and Robert Zvolánek then won the entire tournament. After being tied on points with Zlín, an additional half was played for first place and in the last second of the match, Martin Drabálek decided it with a final score of 4:3. Winning in front of the home crowd and beating top teams from Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic was a great experience for everyone.
We thank all spectators for their support, the foreign teams for their participation, and especially the dozens of organizers and volunteers, without whom this event could not have taken place.
