Šitbořice cycle ball in winter 2025

The winter cycle ball season is behind us and with it several key tournaments in which Šitbořice teams faced domestic and international competition. The biggest event was undoubtedly the elite Grand Prix Šitbořice tournament, which took place on 21–22 February 2025. Several hundred spectators gathered in our gym once again. Thank you to all spectators for the fantastic atmosphere and support of the home teams!

The winner of the elite tournament was the Brno team of Ludvík Písek / Robert Zvolánek Jr. The home team Šitbořice 1 of Martin Drabálek / Jan Havlíček finished a solid 4th place. The tournament was above all an excellent opportunity for them to gel as a pair and gain valuable experience. A huge success was achieved by the Šitbořice U23 second team — Dominik Šabata / Martin Konečný, who joined the tournament at the last minute as a replacement for the withdrawn French team. The boys performed superbly and surprised everyone with a victory over the German Zscherbener team, which earned them a final 5th place.

The international youth tournament Pramos Cup Šitbořice on 22 February 2025 was won by the home pair Matěj Šabata / Vítek Doležal. After excellent performances, the boys won the gold medal, confirmed by a victory in an additional match against the German Zscherbener team by 1:0. Another Šitbořice team Filip Kyzlink / Mikuláš Doležal finished a nice 5th place, gaining valuable experience against older opponents.

Friday's Pramos Cup U23 tournament saw record spectator attendance. The winner was the German Grosskoschen, followed by Svitávka. The Šitbořice team Vojtěch Nečas / Vítek Plh finished 5th, while Dominik Šabata / Martin Konečný secured an excellent 3rd place after a dramatic penalty shootout against Leipzig.

In the Czech Youth Cup, Šitbořice teams also performed well. In the 5th round of the Czech Youth Cup in Zlín on 11 January, the lineup had to change due to Vítek Doležal's illness. Matěj Šabata played with substitute Jan Fraňek and they managed to fight their way to the semi-final, where they narrowly lost to Přerov. They ultimately finished 4th. The second Šitbořice pair Mikuláš Doležal / Filip Kyzlink suffered from lack of training and finished 8th.

In the 6th round, which took place on 8 February in Svitávka, Jan Konečný substituted for the ill Matěj Šabata and played with Vítek Doležal. In his first Czech Cup start, he contributed with consistent goalkeeping and with a total of 17 points the pair became tournament winners. The second team, Mikuláš Doležal / Filip Kyzlink, finished 7th.

The U23 category kicked off the season on 18 January in Šitbořice. Dominik Šabata with Martin Konečný from Svitávka won the entire tournament without dropping a point. Ondřej Valíček and Vojtěch Nečas finished a nice 6th place and showed an excellent performance against more experienced opponents.
