Šitbořice Cycle Ball in Summer 2026

The summer months brought several medal successes to Šitbořice cycle ball and at the same time the beginning of the key period of the season, when the highest goals are decided.

First, a recap of the June tournaments.

In the youth category, we achieved a historic success. Vítek Doležal with Matěj Šabata dominated the Czech Championship final in Chrastava, where with seven wins out of seven matches and a phenomenal score of 59:5 they won the title of Czech champions! Our second pair, Mikuláš Doležal with Filip Kyzlink, also showed a solid performance and took fifth place with seven points.

In the U23 category, Martin Konečný with Dominik Šabata won the silver medal at the Czech Championship in Svitávka. In the final against home team Svitávka, after a dramatic turnaround from 1:3 to 4:4 in regular playing time, we unfortunately lost in the additional half. Second place at the Czech Championship is a great result and most importantly secures qualification for our pair for the upcoming U23 European Championship.

Despite the ongoing summer break, all our teams including youth teams are training, because we have a packed schedule with the most important tournaments of the season ahead. On August 28-30, a U23 national team training camp will take place in Brno before the European Championship, where Dominik Šabata with Martin Konečný will go as squad members and Robert Zvolánek with Martin Drabálek as sparring partners.

At the beginning of September, we have several key tournaments ahead. On September 5, the fourth final round of the Extraliga will take place, where Zvolánek with Drabálek will collect valuable qualifying points for the World Championship. It is already almost certain that our elite cycle ball players will advance to the Czech Championship, which takes place on September 26, where they will fight for participation in the World Championship.

The second Šitbořice elite team faces an even busier September. Dominik Šabata with Martin Konečný will play a friendly tournament in Zscherben, Germany on September 5, followed by the first round of the First League on September 12, where they will strive for promotion to the Extraliga for the next season. The peak of their season will be on September 19 with the European Championship under 23 in Germany, where they will represent the Czech Republic.

The junior and youth season will start in mid-September.

So we have an extremely exciting end to the season ahead, full of important tournaments, and we believe that our cycle ball players will be successful!
