Šitbořice cycle ball in autumn 2025

The autumn part of the cycle ball season is traditionally quieter for youth categories, but all the more was decided in the elite competitions. This year too, the end of the season brought a number of exceptional performances and several historic achievements for Šitbořice cycle ball.

In the youth category, Šitbořice currently dominate. Given the long-term exceptional performances of the first pair Matěj Šabata / Vítek Doležal, a strategic decision was made to split the pair and combine them with younger players Filip Kyzlink and Mikuláš Doležal. This created two balanced pairs that are quickly improving and showing great potential for future seasons. Four more younger players — Patrik Klain, Jan Fraňek, Jan Konečný and Václav Mayer — are still getting acquainted with tournaments.

In the junior category, Šitbořice is represented by the pair Vojtěch Nečas with Nezamyslice player Matěj Matušinec. This combined team quickly gelled and in the current season will undoubtedly be among the candidates for medal positions at the Czech Junior Championship. At the same time, young Šitbořice youth players Matěj Šabata and Vítek Doležal also managed to advance to the top junior league. In this category, they are significantly younger than most opponents, so this year the main goal is gaining experience.

In the Elite category, at the end of September Šitbořice achieved a historic milestone — in the final round of the Extraliga, the pair Martin Drabálek / Štěpán Urbánek managed to beat Nezamyslice in a crucial match, thereby maintaining the highest Czech competition for the first time in history for the next year. This achievement is all the more valuable as it was a makeshift lineup following Jan Havlíček's injury, who played the first 3 rounds of the Extraliga. For the club, this is an extraordinarily valuable achievement.

Another notable success was added by Dominik Šabata in the 1st Elite League competition. He managed to go through all three rounds of the 2nd Elite League — each time in a different lineup with Filip Zahálka, Štěpán Urbánek and Marek Topolář. Thanks to consistent results, he secured promotion to the 1st League for the 2026 season.

Finally, we would like to invite you to the traditional Grand Prix Šitbořice, which will take place on 20–21 February 2026. You can look forward to top Czech and international teams, excellent atmosphere and one of the best tournaments of the season.
