Šitbořice Cycle Ball in Spring 2026

The spring part of the season was very successful for Šitbořice cycle ball. Our cycle ball players collected successes in all age categories. At the same time, several important tournaments are still ahead of them.

In the elite category, we experienced truly historic successes. Martin Drabálek with Robert Zvolánek showed excellent performances in the ŠKODA Extraliga. After three rounds played, they collected medals like on a conveyor belt - silver from the first round in Plzeň, bronze from the second round in Svitávka and again silver from the third round in Prague. Currently they are in second place in the overall ranking of nomination points for the world championship with a deficit of only one point to the leading SC Svitávka. For Šitbořice this is a huge success - while in the past we moved in the Extraliga rather on the edge of relegation, now for the first time we are fighting for the highest positions and we are very well on the way to qualifying for international competitions as well.

The U23 category belonged to our cycle ball players Martin Konečný and Dominik Šabata. At the first round of the league in Nezamyslice they showed a dominant performance - six wins out of six matches and a score of 36:7. Subsequently they confirmed their excellent form at the home tournament, where they won again with a record of 38:7. After two rounds they are in the provisional first place of the qualification and in June an important Czech Championship final awaits them and in September then potentially also the European Championship.

The juniors brought silver medals from the Czech Championship final in Zlín. Vojtěch Nečas with Matěj Matušinec (starting for Šitbořice/Nezamyslice) sovereignly won the basic group and in the final they lost to home team Zlín only after four-meter shots. In May, the mentioned pair then participated in the European Championship for juniors as a substitute team.

In the youth category, Filip Kyzlink with Matěj Šabata dominated the home Championship of the JMKr region and subsequently also won the qualifying tournament for advancement to the Czech championship. Silver from the Youth Cup final was won by brothers Mikuláš and Vítek Doležal, bronze from the same tournament was taken by Kyzlink with Šabata. In June, the Czech championship final for youth will take place in Chrastava, where the pair Matěj Šabata and Vítek Doležal will start.

The spring part of the season showed that Šitbořice cycle ball is on the rise on a national scale and at this moment is able to reach for the highest positions in practically all categories.
