Šitbořice cycle ball in spring 2024

In spring, a number of tournaments took place, particularly in the youth categories.

The pair Dominik Šabata / Šimon Urbánek played a series of tournaments in the junior and U23 categories. During the winter months, very intensive training took place, with the April Czech Junior Championship tournament as the main goal. Dominik and Šimon needed to beat their main rivals from Zlín, which would secure them a spot at the European Championship. They went through the tournament unbeaten and defeated all opponents by a large margin. However, in the final match against the Bax brothers from Zlín, they unfortunately lost by the narrow score of 3:4. Šitbořice thus qualified for the European Championship as the reserve representative team. The second Šitbořice team of Ondřej Valíček / Petr Novotný finished the junior finals in fifth place and managed to play competitive matches even against more experienced opponents.

It is worth mentioning the success of the Bax brothers from Zlín, who after 27 years managed to win junior gold for the Czech Republic at the European Championship.

In the under-23 category, Dominik Šabata and Šimon Urbánek advanced to the Czech Championship, which will take place at the end of June. At the finals, the Šitbořice players will try to challenge for medal positions.

The youth category also has the Czech Championship finals still ahead. This year it will take place on home ground in Šitbořice in mid-June, where two Šitbořice pairs will compete. The first team of Vojtěch Nečas and Matěj Šabata has the highest ambitions — they went through the current season without a single defeat. The second team of younger players Vítek and Mikuláš Doležal will primarily gain experience against older opponents.
