Silver Medal from Czech Championship U23 for Konečný and Šabata

Silver Medal from Czech Championship U23 for Konečný and Šabata
Our cycle ball players Martin Konečný and Dominik Šabata delivered an excellent performance at the Czech Championship finals in the U23 category, which took place in Svitávka. Victory and the title of Czech Champions unfortunately eluded the boys by a hair's breadth.
Our pair played four matches, winning three and losing only once. Dominik and Martin managed to defeat the teams of Sokol Zlín-Prštné (5:1), SK Chodov (8:3) and Start Plzeň (9:3).
The key match was against MO Svitávka. Both teams played very evenly throughout the season, in previous tournaments Dominik and Martin won twice, while Svitávka won once. The Czech champions and representatives at the upcoming European Championship were thus to be decided by the final match.
We didn't start the final match well and after a few minutes we were losing 1:3. However, Dominik and Martin started a tremendous comeback and in regular playing time managed to equalize to a final score of 4:4. The winner was therefore decided by extra time, in which we unfortunately conceded the first unlucky and at the same time decisive goal. The final score after opening up the game was 4:10.
The gold medal and Czech Championship title went to the pair David Petr and Michal Musil from Svitávka.
Second place at the Czech Championship is an excellent result, which confirms the quality of our young cycle ball players under 23 and promises a good future for Šitbořice cycle ball. It must be noted that the team from Svitávka currently plays in the highest elite league - Extraliga, where they compete with the best teams in the Czech Republic. Despite this, our players were a completely adequate opponent for them throughout the season.
At this moment, Šitbořice cycle ball has a short break. We return to competitions at the beginning of September, when we face key tournaments in the Elite Extraliga (Zvolánek/Drabálek) and Elite 1st League (Šabata/Konečný).
