Martin Drabálek and Robert Zvolánek won bronze at the elite Czech Championship
Preliminary Round
The elite Czech Championship was played on Saturday, September 26th in the sports hall of Emil Zátopek Elementary School in Zlín. Five pairs competed for the title in a round-robin system. The first two advanced to the final, the third and fourth played for bronze.
Martin and Robert lost to SC Svitávka 3:5 and drew with Zlín-Prštné 3:3. They defeated MO Svitávka 4:3 and Start Plzeň 9:3. With seven points and a score of 19:14, they finished third in the preliminary round, just one point behind second-place Zlín.
Third Place Match
For the bronze medal, they met MO Svitávka again, that is Jiří Hrdlička Jr. and Roman Staněk. This time they won 6:4 and the medal stayed in Šitbořice.
Martin and Robert had ambitions to go for the title, which would have also secured them participation in the upcoming World Championship. Despite having a two-point lead in the standings, it unfortunately wasn't enough to qualify for the World Championship.
And although the boys are rather disappointed at the moment, it's important to note that this is still a great success for Šitbořice cycle ball - we placed on the podium at the elite Czech Championship for the first time in history!

At the beginning of September, Martin and Robert won the fourth round of the Extraliga in Zlín, for the first time in the club's history. Now they added a bronze medal from the Czech Championship. Congratulations!
