Historic success for Šitbořice cycle ball. Successful first September weekend.

On Saturday, the fourth and final round of the ŠKODA Extraliga before the final Czech Championship took place in Zlín. Martin Drabálek with Robert Zvolánek won it with sixteen points and a score of 34:18.

We gradually defeated the home team Zlín-Prštné 5:2, Favorit Brno 9:1, MO Svitávka 2 seven to four, SC Svitávka 3:2, and in a direct battle for first place also MO Svitávka 1 with a score of 5:4. The only slip came in a 5:5 draw with Start Plzeň. MO Svitávka 1 finished second, home team Zlín-Prštné third, both pairs with twelve points.

Gold for juniors in Zscherben, bronze for Šabata with Konečný

The rest of the club traveled to international tournaments in Zscherben, Germany.

On Friday, Matěj Šabata with Vítek Doležal won the U13 and U15 junior cup tournament. In the group stage they defeated RMC Stein 1 five to one, RVS Obernfeld 3:0 and Reideburger SV 2:0, in the semifinal they beat the home team Zscherben 1:0 and in the final they defeated RMC Stein 2 with a score of 4:3. Out of eight starting pairs, we were first.

On Saturday morning, Filip Kyzlink with Václav Mayer played the U13 cup. With two wins, one draw and two defeats they collected seven points and with a score of 15:14 finished fourth out of six.

In the afternoon came the elite tournament and in it bronze for Dominik Šabata with Martin Konečný. In four matches they gained one win, two draws and one defeat, in the battle for third place they then defeated SV Nordshausen 3:1. The tournament was won by the home team RSV Zscherben with the pair Gerdes and Herrmann, VC Cronenbourg finished second.

Decision in three weeks

The elite Czech Championship will take place on Saturday, September 26 from 11:00 at the sports hall of Emil Zátopek Elementary School in Zlín. Besides Šitbořice, both Svitávkas, Zlín-Prštné and Start Plzeň will participate in the tournament. The championship title will be decided as well as who will go to the European and World Championships. Keep your fingers crossed!
