Two Šitbořice pairs at the qualification for 2nd League 2026 in Nezamyslice

On Saturday, November 29th, the qualification for the 2nd League 2026 in cycle ball took place in Nezamyslice. Šitbořice sent two pairs into competition, which demonstrates the depth of the club's player base.

Sokol Šitbořice 4 with Filip Zahálka and Jan Zelinka performed better. The duo finished in 3rd place with 9 points and a score of 27:16. Zahálka thus continued his good form after recently competing in the 2nd Elite League, and together with Zelinka they delivered several quality performances.

The second Šitbořice pair – Sokol Šitbořice 3 consisting of Šimon Urbánek and Štěpán Urbánek – had a tougher tournament. The Urbánek brothers finished in 7th place with 1 point and a score of 17:32. The qualification was a valuable experience for them and an opportunity to gain starts against stronger competition.

The overall victory belonged to START Plzeň 2 with Bohatý and Plh, who clearly dominated the tournament with 18 points. Lokomotiva Liberec 1 finished second with 13 points. The promotion spots to the 2nd League 2026 were thus taken by the strongest teams.

For Šitbořice, it is important that the club is able to field multiple pairs in qualification tournaments. Young players are gaining experience that will pay off in the future.
