Silver success in the third round of the extraliga

The third round of the elite ŠKODA Extraliga took place in the TJ Pankrác hall in Prague, and our cycle ball players Martin Drabálek and Robert Zvolánek achieved an excellent second place. The balanced tournament of seven pairs was ultimately won by the SC Svitávka team Hrdlička – Kripner, while we finished in second place.

Considering the illness of one of our players, this result is all the more valuable. Our pair showed a very solid performance with a record of four wins, one draw and only one loss. In total, we scored 27 goals and conceded 18, which means an excellent difference of nine goals. From six matches we gained 13 points.

Key successes include particularly valuable victories over MO Svitávka 1 and over Zlín (5:4). We fulfilled our duty with a clear victory over Favorit Brno 7:1. We drew with Start Plzeň (3:3). Our only loss was to the eventual winner SC Svitávka 2:4.

The tournament was won by the SC Svitávka team (Hrdlička sr. – Kripner), which gained 16 points with a record of five wins and one draw. Bronze went to the second pair from MO Svitávka 1 (Hrdlička jr. – Staněk) with 13 points, the same as us, but with a worse score.

In the very important overall ranking of nomination points for the World Championship, Zvolánek and Drabálek are currently in second place and are only one point behind the leading SC Svitávka. The silver medal from the third round of the extraliga is thus an excellent continuation of the season and confirms their outstanding form.
