Fourth Place at the Opening of the Elite 1st League in Olomouc

On Saturday, September 12th, TJ MILO Olomouc hosted the first round of the Elite 1st League. Seven pairs gathered and Martin Konečný with Dominik Šabata competed for Šitbořice.

We entered the tournament with a 7:3 victory over Favorit Brno 2 and immediately after that we defeated Zlín-Prštné 2 with a score of 5:2. Then we lost twice in a row: 2:6 to the eventual winner from Nezamyslice and 4:6 to MO Svitávka 3. We beat the home team Olomouc 5:1 and in the last match we drew 2:2 with Pankrác Praha.

With ten points and a goal difference of 25:20 we finished fourth. The tournament was won by Prima Nezamyslice with fourteen points, second place went to MO Svitávka 3 with thirteen and third place to Zlín-Prštné 2 with twelve points.

In just a week, Martin and Dominik will compete in the European Championship under 23, so the Olomouc tournament was good preparation. We have a good start in the league and we'll see what the next two rounds bring. The goal is to advance to the top league next year. Keep your fingers crossed!
